Mandya: Congress leader Dr Ravindra on hunger strike opposing Nikhil’s candidature

Mandya, Mar 11: Congress leader Dr Ravindra is on a three-day long silent hunger protest in front of Vishweshwarayya statue here opposing candidature of Nikhil Kumaraswamy.

“Nikhil Kumaraswamy is an outsider. Making him a candidate just because he is the son of chief minister is not right. It is a question of the identity and prestige of the district. I will start a people awareness campaign if the candidate is not changed,” he warned.

Ravindra had contested from south graduate constituency for Vidhan Parishat seat and lost.

Nikhil Kumaraswamy who has prepared to contest from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency visited along with his mother, MLA Anitha Kumaraswamy the Mysuru residence of Ravindra Srikantayya, MLA of Srirangapatna constituency. He received snacks and held long discussions with Ravindra. Ravindra Srikantayya had contested in elections against late Ambareesh in the past.
