Mangaluru, Mar 11: International Women’s Day was celebrated in the St Xavier Ward of St Teresa Church, Paldane in the city.
Stressing the respect the society gives to a woman, Fr Vincent Victor Menezes, parish priest, said, “A woman works all day along for the betterment of her family. If families function properly, a good society is formed. So a woman plays a vital role in the formation of a noble society.”
Various games were organized for the members of the ward.
Gurkar of the ward, Joslin Lobo, representatives of the ward Gerald Monteiro, Marceline Fernandes and Lizzy Fernandes were present on the occasion.
