Moodbidri, Mar 11: Moodbidri friends on Monday alleged that MLC Ivan Dsouza had insulted Rani Abbakka during a Moodbidri taluk opening function. 

Addressing a press meet here on March 11, Moodbidri Friends association president, Amar kote alleged Ivan of insulting Rani Abbaka when the latter issue was proposed at the function. "Rani Abbaka is a prestige to Moodbidri. Remembering our freedom fighters is our duty," he exclaimed.

He alleged that Ivan Dsouza had tried to stop them from raising Rani abbakka issue during Moodbidri taluk opening function. "As many children, elders of Moodbidri were present in the function, it is our right to speak about Rani Abbakka and explain about the sacrifices she had made during the freedom struggle."

He asked why a chapter of Rani Abbaka was not added in the school curriculum. The goverment should think about it, he excaimed.

Association secretary said that in Tulu books also her chapter should be added.

Association honorary advisor Rajendra J, Nagaverma Jain, Secretary Pratish, Rajesh Devadiga were present in the press meet.
