Chitradurga, Mar 12: In a rare kind of incident, a wife killed her husband, who suspected her character. The accused was trying to destroy the evidence but was caught by the villagers. This murder is reported from Salabammanahalli of Hiriyoor taluk in the district.

Dasappa (35), who was a daily wage labourer, is the unfortunate victim who lost his life in this incident. Netravati, wife of Dasappa is the one who is accused of killing him.

Dasappa used to come home every day in an inebriated state and torture his wife Netravati, suspecting her character. Netravati was sick because of this behavior of Dasappa. On the night of Monday, March 11, the wife who was thoroughly frustrated with his behaviour could not bear the torture and struck him with the iron rod and killed him instantly. Later she tried to bury his body without the knowledge of the villagers.

The villagers who saw Netravati burying the body of her husband, informed the police immediately. The police, who arrived at the spot, arrested the accused.

A case in this regard is registered at Imangala police station. Further investigation is in progress.
