Shivamogga: One more person dies due to monkey fever

Shivamogga, Mar 13: The deadly disease of monkey fever has taken one more toll. Manjaiah Durgappa Nayaka (58), a resident of Yadehalli village near Kargal of Sagar taluk in the district died on Tuesday, March 12 at the KMC hospital in Manipal.

Manjaiah was suffering from high fever since three or four days. He was initially treated at sub-divisional hospital of Sagar. Later he was taken to Meggan hospital of the city for advanced treatment. Susequently, he was admitted to Manipal hospital on the night of Monday, March 11 as per the advise of the medical officers of Meggan. Unfortunately, Manjaiah died on Tuesday as he could not respond to the treatment.

The blood test report of Manjaiah is yet to arrive. Meanwhile, Santosh Kasaguppe and Prashant Muppane, residents under the limits of Aralagodu primary health center are admitted to Manipal hospital suspecting to be affected with KFD (Kasanoor Forest Disease).
