Udupi: Work over ‘Suvarna Gopura’ at Sri Krishna Math set in motion

Udupi, Mar 14: The construction of ‘Suvarna Gopura’ in Sri Krishna math was set in motion after religious rituals in the leadership of Chitrapur Gopalakrishna Achar, Herge Vedavyas Bhat, Avadhani Subrahmanya Bhat Gundibail and Ramamurthy Bhat on Wednesday, March 13.

Supikavarohana was held in the presence of Krishnapur Math’s Vidyasagar Theertha Sripada, Paryaya Palimar Vidyadheesha Theertha Sripada, Kaniyoor matadheesha Vidyavalla Theertha Sripada and Adamamaru junior seer Ishapriya Theertha Sripada.

The work started at 12.20 pm. The work will not hinder the routine visits and poojas in the temple till 11 am. Though Garbhagudi will be closed, the devotees will be able to see the deity through Kanakana Kindi.



“The Garbagudi will be opened again from 5 pm till 9 pm for devotees,” said Palimar swamy Vidyadheesha Theertha Sripada.
