Karwar, Mar 16: An attempted rape on a six year old girl is reported from Yallapur, Uttara Kannada district on the evening of March 15.
Manjunath Nagya Siddi, the accused had taken the girl on his bike saying that he will take her to the shop. Parents of the girl alleged that the suspect attempted to rape the girl in the duration.
The child had gone with him as Arathibail, Yallapur resident Manjunath Nagya Siddi was known to the family. The suspect misused the acquaintance to his advantage. Parents complained to the police soon after the child informed them of the crime.
A case under Pocso act is registered at Yellapur police station on the basis of a complaint by the father of the child. It is said that the suspect confessed to his crime during preliminary investigations.
