Bengaluru: Birsamunda Trust urges handover of Kukke temple administration to tribals

Bengaluru, Mar 16: Birsamunda Tribal Community Development Trust urged to give administration of Kukke Subramanya and Adi Subramanya temples to the Malekudiya community, who are the tribals of that area.

"The relation between Lord Subramanya and the Malekudiya community, which is in the service of Lord Kukke Subramanya since generations, is emotional. From time immemorial till date the ancestral religious duties of the God is done by the Malekudiya community. So it is suitable to handover the complete rights and responsibility of the temple to the Malekudiya community," opined Dr Haniyoor Chandregowda, executive trustee of the trust.

Dr Haniyoor further said, "The land in and around the area of Adi Subramanya, Kukke Subramanya and Posara, that belongs to Malekudiya community has to be given to their custody. The government has to strictly implement the Adivasi Tribal Scheduled land Act."
