Mangaluru: Corporation starts watering saplings planted on road dividers

Mangaluru, March 25: While the saplings planted by the corporation on road dividers are drying up in the heat and about to die, it has woken up and started watering them through water tankers in the mornings.

Nearly 29 thousand saplings are planted on road dividers. The corporation spends nearly 39 rupees each for their maintenance. They have spent nearly 22 rupees each to plant them. Environment lovers had expressed opposition to the corporation’s neglect towards them.

The corporation which was spreading slogans like ‘protect environment, celebrate vanamahotsava’ was not bothering to look after the saplings.
