Mangaluru: ICYM’s Biblical drama ‘Claudia Procula’ enthralls viewers at Padua grounds

Mangaluru, Mar 25: To commemorate the Year of Youth - 2019 in Mangaluru diocese, the India Catholic Youth Movement, Central Council organised a Konkani Biblical based rama depicting the faith and life of Claudia Procula, wife of the Pontius Pilate, here on March 23 at the Padua College grounds.

The drama was written by Fr Ronald Serrao and was directed by Christopher D’Souza, Nenasam.

The play began with a formal stage programme presided over by Msgr Lawrence Maxim Noronha, vicar general of Mangaluru diocese. Addressing the gathering he said, “My appreciation and best wishes to all the young actors and the technical team of this play for stepping forward to stage this biblical drama. I urge all the youth to be always towards the Church in whatever way possible and thus become the pillars of the Church.”



Fr Ronald Serrao the writer of the Konkani Biblical drama ‘Claudia Procula’, diocesan ICYM director ‘Yuva Spoorthi’ Fr Ronald Prakash were present on the occasion. Jaison Pereira, diocesan youth president welcomed the gathering, while Fevisha Monteiro, diocesan ICYM general secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Noel D'Souza, ICYM diocesan vice president compered the formal stage programme.

The gathering witnessed a dance performance on the theme song of the Year of Youth - 2019 presented by Delitia and team followed by the Konkani Biblical drama. The youth of the diocese acted out the drama enthralling the viewers with a spiritual experience. The drama gave a visual treat to spectators receiving applauds for the hard work and dedication. Nearly five hundred people, priests and religious were present.
