Udupi: Defence minister to accompany Shobha Karandlaje during filing of nomination

Udupi, Mar 26: Union defence minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, will be taking part in a procession being taken out on the occasion of filing of nomination papers by current MP and BJP candidate from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, Shobha Karandlaje, on Tuesday, March 26.

Nirmala will visit Sri Krishna Math today at 8.30 am and get blessings from Paryaya Palimaru Sri Vidyadheeshateertha Swamiji.

She will hold meeting with fishermen leaders at Hotel Country Inn, Manipal at 9.15 am to discuss various issues including the missing boat. She would be visiting the houses of Chandrashekhar Kotian from Badanidiyoor, Malpe, owner of 'Suvarna Tribhuja' fishing boat which went missing under mysterious circumstances, and another missing fisherman of the boat Damodar Salian.

At 11 am, she will take part in the 'Vijaya Sankalp' convention being held near the district BJP office at Kunjibettu here. At 12.15 she will join Shobha Karandlaje during the filing of nomination papers by the latter in the district office complex at Rajatadri, Manipal.
