Bengaluru, Mar 26: Officers of Indian Police Service (IPS) are acting similar to the people representatives when it comes to disclosing the details of their assets. So far, 45 IPS officers of the state have not declared their asset details.

The details of the assets of 2018, held by these officers, were to be submitted by the end of January 2019. Surprisingly, 45 officers have defaulted in declaring their assets to the government. Rajnish Goel, secretary of state internal administration department, who is miffed with the non-compliance shown by the IPS officers, has written a letter in this regard to the DG IGP of the state.

According to the rule, it is mandatory for the IPS officers to submit the details of the assets owned by them and their family members every year.

Though online facility is available for filing the asset details, the IPS officers are not following the same. They are hesitating to declare the movable and immovable assets they own. So the secretary of the concerned department is forced to write a letter in this regard to the DGP to take corrective action.

It is an irony that people who are supposed to implement discipline and order in the state are not abiding by the rules themselves.
