Mangaluru: Three held for operating online cricket betting business

Mangaluru, Mar 27: The personnel of the city crime intelligence bureau have taken into custody three persons on the allegation of operating cricket betting business online. The police have recovered Rs 62,700 in cash and four cell phones from the possession of arrested persons.

The arrested trio has been identified as Bhanukesh, James, and Anil. Another accused has been absconding.

It is said that these youngsters had rented a room near KSRTC bus stand in the city for operating this business. They had a television set in the room and betting business was carried out with the help of a mobile application.

The police, who got information about the illegal activity of the gang, raided the spot and arrested the accused. Assistant commissioner of police, Srinivas Gowda, police sub-inspector, Kabbalraj, and other staff took part in the operation.

    how come dream x1 is still operative in legal form. it is also another form of illegal betting shown in a legal way with even MSD advertising the same. Can somebody answer this.

    This is a huge racket in India during the IPL, we will also have huge betting in the months of april and may during the elections. I'm surprised the police have done a great job but late. There are such activities in plenty even during any cricket bilateral series.
    Guys instead of wasting money in this illegal betting getting in the stock market is better which is legal sort of gambling. Just see today's market fallen from +200 to -150 (BSE).
