Udupi, Mar 27: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Congress-JD(S) coalition candidate Pramod Madhwaraj issued clarification for increase in wealth between the affidavit submitted by him in last Vidhan Sabha elections and the current affidavit.

“As land prices have gone up now, there is an increase of Rs 1.26 crore. The value of shares in the last affidavit was based on market rates. There is an increase of about Rs 5.05 crore now. The detailed figures are mentioned in the respective columns of the affidavit. The valuation of other assets if compered to the nomination for last Vidhan Sabha elections has gone up by Rs 2.37 crore.

“The main reason is that the valuation of land was based on provisional financial audit. The current figures are based on the audit on October 2018. The details are available in particular columns.

“Raj Fishmeal and Oil Company which was owned by me was converted into a partnership firm in the year 2016-17. Therefore, the movable and immovable assets of the concern are converted as assets of partnership firm. I have mentioned about it on page 26 of the affidavit. I had submitted details last time also,” stated Pramod Madhwaraj in his clarification.
