Bengaluru: BMTC bus topples on flyover, 12 injured

Bengaluru, March 28: A BMTC bus on its way from Kaval Byrasandra to Karnataka housing board in north Bengaluru toppled on Chord road flyover on Wednesday morning. The accident by the bus belonging to Sumanahalli depot caused injuries to twelve people.

The incident at about 10.45 am happened apparently as the front wheels of the bus hit the retaining wall of the flyover. The injured were admitted to Fortis hospital nearby by traffic police from Malleshwaram police station.

Among the injured are the driver, conductor and four women. A woman who sustained multiple injuries on hand had to be admitted to ICU. Police said that the remaining injured were admitted at KC general and Fortis hospital. There were no children in the bus.

A crane had to be brought to lift the bus and clear the traffic.
