Udupi: Vehicle movement banned in Agumbe ghat in April

Udupi, March 30: Repairs will be undertaken on National Highway 169A in the Agumbe Ghat region. To aid the permanent repair work, the highway will remain closed for vehicles from April 1 to 30, ordered Udupi DC Hephsiba Rani Korlapati.

Light motor vehicles such as cars, jeeps, ordinary bus, mini bus, two-wheelers are directed to take Udupi-Karkala-Mallaghatta-Sringeri-Koppa-Thirthahalli route on National Highway 169 as an alternate.

Heavy vehicles such as Rajahamsa and Airavat buses, private luxury buses, bullet tankers, ship cargo containers and long chassis vehicles are directed to use the Udupi-Kundapura-Siddapura-Hosangadi-Masthikatte-Thirthahalli on National Highway 52 as alternative route.

 

Signboards will be installed in various places asking motorists to not take the route which is being repaired. The work will begin from April 1, the DC said in the notification.
