Kasargod, Mar 31: Thieves forced themselves into a house at Kutamgeradka near Kumble where a lady lives alone, and succeeded in stealing six and half sovereigns of gold ornaments and silver utensils. The incident happened on the night of Friday.
Vrinda Kini (64) lives alone in this house at Kuntamgeradka. The thieves entered her house by breaking open the window of the Puja room and gained access to the hall. They also tried to break the door to the other room in the house . Vrinda, who got up on account of the sound, contacted her relatives living at Kumble over phone.
When the relatives came to the residence of Vrinda Kini, the thieves made good their escape. A complaint of theft was thereafter registered in Kumble police station.
