Kundapur, Apr 1: After a tanker hit a motor bike on the night of Saturday March 30 at Kakkunje cross near Halady in the taluk, the bike rider lost his life. The pillion rider, who was in a critical condition, was admitted into a hospital at Manipal.
The deceased youngster was Marji Chetan (19), a resident of Hardalli - Mandalli village. Deepak from Shivamogga who was riding the pillion, suffered critical injuries.
Both the deceased and injured youth belonged to a very poor family and they used to work together as masons. Chetan's father had died sometime back and he was supporting his mother and younger sister. The family was entirely dependent on his earnnigs. Deepak used to reside at the residence of his aunt at Hardalli - Mandalli and used to work from there as a mason.
A case about this accident was registered at Shankarnarayana police station.
