Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Apr 1: "Sumalatha's support base is very strong in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. Chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, has become jittery. He is frustrated out of the fear of his son losing the election," said former chief minister and state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa.

Speaking to media persons at the airport here, he also referred to defective nomination papers submitted by Nikhil. He predicted that the nomination filed by Nikhil will be rejected. "If the officials do not do it, it will be rejected in courts in future. The chief minister has used his powers to set right the defects in the nomination paper. Therefore, Mandya district electoral officer should be transferred immediately and an efficient officer should be posted there. A thorough investigation should be conducted into the entire episode," he demanded.

Speaking about the reported rebellion by Katti brothers for not issuing ticket to Ramesh Katti, Yeddyurappa said that there is no problem relating to issuance of party ticket in Chikkodi Lok Sabha constituency. "There is no need for any mediation. We are together. Umesh Katti and Ramesh Katti will unitedly make all efforts for the success of the party candidate there. BJP leaders will be meeting both of them today. Our party meeting is being held at KLE guest house here today," he stated.

On the issue of diary, Yeddyurappa said his earlier notion was that Rahul Gandhi was a gentleman. "He is an irresponsible man. He says I have written in the diary about handing over money to Advani. I ask him to prove the charge with evidences," he said angrily. He also said that malicious campaigning does not behove the position of Congress president and pledged to retire from politics if charges against him are proved.

"Rahul Gandhi has already accepted defeat in the Lok Sabha election. He is childish, and his words are not taken seriously. Narendra Modi will again become our Prime Minster, and BJP will get over 300 seats in the election," he said confidently.
