Bengaluru: Death of two in cylinder blast - 'Ranam' stunt master arrested

Bengauru, Apr 2: Relating to the incident in which a mother-daughter duo, who had come to watch the shooting of movie, Ranam, died due to cylinder blast, the police have arrested stunt master of the film, Subhash (55) from Kaggalipura here. He had remained evasive after the blast, and his cellphone had been switched off. Bagalur police took him into custody.

The police who kept in touch with members of the film team, came to know that Subhash was at his home at Kaggalipura. A police team visited his residence late night on Sunday and took him into custody. He was produced in the court and taken into police custody for two days. Deputy commissioner of police, Kala Krishnaswamy, said that Subhash was working as assistant to stunt director to stunt director, Vijayan, in the film and he was the one who had conducted trial about blasting of the car along with some other staff.

It is said that Subhash said he and his assistants never imagined that the cylinder could go off. He said they became panicky when the blast happened, switched off mobiles, and remained elusive. He said he is not aware of the whereabouts of the other accused. The police suspect that director, V Samudram, producer, R Srinivas, stunt director, Vijayanan and others are hiding in Chennai.

In the meantime, Jaibab(8) who suffered serious injuries in the bast, is responding t treatments, Both her lips have been injured and she has lost four teeth.
