Bengaluru: Banks have 11 holidays this month - customers advised to plan work

Bengaluru, Apr 2: Banks will be closed for 11 days during April on account of different holidays. Therefore customers having urgent work are advised to plan their work well in advance as shortage of time might create bottlenecks in getting things done on time.

April 1 happened to be financial closure day. On account of Ugadi, there is holiday for banks on April 6. April 7 is Sunday, and banks are closed on April 13 which is second Saturday, and the next day. Holiday on account of Mahavir Jayanti falls on April 17. First phase of election is on April 18. April 19 is Good Friday. April 21 is Sunday. Therefore banks will not function on these days.

On April 23, banks located in centres where second phase of Lok Sabha election will be held, will remain closed. April 27 and 28 also the banks will not transact business on account of fourth Saturday and Sunday.

    These nationalized bank employees enjoy their work to the fullest.... with ease and good pay.. but still every year to go on strike to increase their pay... they have hell lot of facilities which even a police man who does duty 24 hrs sometimes is deprived of.... god knows in India the income and salary is not defined based on their work but based on the reputation...

    Too many holidays for banks in India. When do they work? For India to develop need to follow the west. In developed countries there are only five public holidays per year.
