Udupi: EC and RTO officials take out ‘Chowkidar’ stickers from vehicles

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Apr 3: The election officials have swung into action after the 'Chowkidar' battle between the BJP and the Congress reached Udupi.

The officers received several complaints from both the parties regarding Chowkidar stickers. Following complaints, the additional deputy commissioner instructed the election officers and RTO on Tuesday to take immediate action.

The officers have started removing 'Mei Bhi Chowkidar' and 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' stickers pasted on vehicles.

It may be recalled that local Congress leaders and workers had pasted 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' stickers on about 50 cars and auto rickshaws in and around the city.

'Chowkidar' (guard) refers to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has time and again proclaimed himself as 'Chowkidar' guarding the nation against corruption and other ills. The PM recently launched the 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' campaign on Twitter which received huge response from BJP supporters, and within a day went on to become the top trending topic on the social media platform.

On the other hand, the Congress led by its president Rahul Gandhi has countered it with the 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' campaign, over the alleged Rafale scam and accusing PM Modi of 'favouring' industrialists.

    Dear JNB,
So you don't respect supreme court judgement who gave modi clean chit, if you say supreme court is also under modi influence, modi was a cm of Gujarat at that time,c enter was ruled by Congress then why didn't they investigate and prove modi is a culprit. Sit CBI all central agencies was handled by center. If you say all agencies have been manipulated.then Congress in center was a friend of modi at that time or no control over agencies.choice is yours.

How in the world are any of these slogans affixed on private vehicles violate EC codes??
Gross violation of freedom of expression and freedom of speech.

Someone needs to take these to the court. EC is acting arbitrarily and violates fundamental rights.
A big threat to freedom is when Government functionaries such as EC (BJP or Congress does not matter) start displaying out-sized controls that violates fundamental rights of citizens in the name of "common" good.

A story, which is applicable to all who want to enter politics and existing politicians, was published, which I cannot write here due to space. But the moral of the story is, "If you want to be in politics, never trust anyone, even your father".

Same thing should be done in Mlore also. Since alot of vehicles have put stickers of NAMO again with Modi's photo which is against election code of conduct. These vehicles are freely roaming in the city.
Even T-shirts, pasting stickers on the gates of the houses like "our house is NAMO house" which is all against election code of conduct.
All rules are only for other parties, and the dictator, goondaism, harassment party is not having any rules.
Even the officials are keeping there eyes and mouth shut for them.

People don't blindly support for the fake promises.
Our youth require jobs, which are not at all available. The brains of youth is so much washed they think people with sweet and dramatic talk are always good.
    They are the worst people.
All college students, are not knowing the reality in the scenario of jobs availability. So much unemployment is there in the country and this is leading to all kinds of bad particles like robbery, terrorism, raping, etc...
Youth and all people open ur eyes and vote wisely for better nation in the scenario of job creation.
If the same party is reelected definitely we have to be chowkidar of toilets one day.

Where is freedom of expression, privacy?
It is our fundamental right to put ant sticker at our residence as long as it is not anti Constitution. Wearing dress or cap is individual choice how a govt can dictate what to wear?
This action of RTO /EC is intollerence action
Every individual has the right to work for the candidate of their choice

When you cannot defeat somebody in a democratic manner, put allegation on them, defame them ....
If Chowkidar is chor, then Rahul should offer his whole family's wealth to Modi and Modi should give his all family members wealth to Rahul ....

    And asset increment of :
Amit Shah's ? raised by 900% in last five years
Amit Shah's Wife's ? raised by 16 times in last five years
Jay Shah's ? raised by 1,600% in last five years
Anil Ambani's ? raised by 400% in last five years
Baba Ramdev's ? raised by 450% in last five years

RG and his family have been in politics since Motilal Nehru's time. How can you compare the wealth that has been there with the family since more than 100 years with those who have increased to this volume in just five years ?

    Jeni,

I am talking about Narendra Damodardas Modi ....
If Jay Shah's income raised from few lakhs to a crore, your percentage logic do not apply, figure to be considered ....
Anil Ambani's father was a very successful businessman by the grace of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, check the facts ....
Do you have any idea of much of share does Baba Ramdev have in Patanjali group ....
94% of the stake in Patanjali Ayurvedic Ltd. is held by Acharya Balkishna .....
Get your facts right before you post a comment ....
Yes i agree, his FMCG market is getting favour from Modi ....
What logic to be applied for being in politics since 5 generations make you ultra rich without working or engaged in any kind of business ....

Yesterday morning, EC raided a publishing house in Chennai, but in the evening, allowed to publish the book titled "Rafale, bleeding the nation" in Tamil. This news has come in papers including TOI today.
(some papers say, bleeding, some say laundering and others say scam, the translation of Tamil).
