Canada: 'MAC Social’ on May 4, preparations in full swing

Canada, Apr 3: Canada's premier Konkani Association 'Mangalorean Association of Canada' (MAC) will present the most spectacular evening of the year ‘MAC Social – 2019’ on May 4 at the renowned Payal Banquet and Convention Centre, Mississauga from 6.30 pm, a night of entertainment filled with lovely music, innovative games, lots of exciting prizes & Cha-Cha Competition. Undoubtedly, MAC Social 2019 extravaganza under the dynamic leadership of the incumbent president Manohar Pais will be a thrilling and most memorable event with the presence of most popular live band, ‘Big Foot’ and renowned compere Melwyn.

The highlight of the event would be the Mrs Mangalore contest. For the first time in Canada MAC is proud to announce Mrs Mangalore, an event aimed to pay tribute and honour women for the multi-faceted roles they play. The organisers urging the married women to join them for Mrs Mangalore contest and be proud of who and what they are.

Although MAC is only twenty years old, it is Canada's premier Mangalorean Konkani Association and in the current year 2019 completes 18 glorious years of venturing into the much-acclaimed family social event 'MAC Social’. The sole objective of this super event is to bring various families together under one roof in the spirit of oneness under the banner of Love, Joy and Peace.

Manohar Pais, the energetic president of MAC, informed Daijiworld Canada and said, “We are extremely excited and proud to host such a unique family event with Mrs Mangalore contest for the first time that will surely create history in Canada. A woman in all her forms grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, teacher, homemaker and entrepreneur is sacrosanct to the Mangalurean community. A woman is embraced, respected, revered and honored for not only playing multiple roles effortlessly but nurturing, fostering and providing unconditional love and support to all around her. This event will give a great opportunity for married Konkani Women to showcase their beauty & talents. The members of the Executive committee have worked very hard to plan this magnificent event.” He highlighted the programme details of ‘MAC Social’, an event that The Mangalorean Association of Canada presents every year to deliver fun-filled entertainment for the entire family.

The MAC, with members originating from different parts of Coastal Karnataka, has formed as one family in this distant land of Canada. Their motto is ‘Together we can make difference’ and by organizing various spiritual, cultural, social and sports events attract every Mangalurean to the wonderful organisation. Its unequivocal commitment in preserving the rich Konkani language, culture and tradition and strengthening the relationship with Mangalureans in Canada is praiseworthy.

The ongoing a month long Lenten programme in Konkani / English organized by MAC under the able leadership of the incumbent president Manohar Pais, the executive committee and in particular spiritual secretary Ronald D’Souza is a true example of MAC’s dedication not only in organising social and cultural events but also in assisting spiritual needs of the Konkani community here in Canada.
