Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Khalifa grants Zayed Medal to PM Narendra Modi

Abu Dhabi, Apr 4: UAE President Sheikh Khalifa honoured India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Zayed Medal on Thursday, April 4.

Zayed medal is the UAE's highest civil honour which is awarded to kings, presidents and heads of states> Modi was granted the medal for boosting relations between the Emirates and India, according to a tweet from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

Referring to Modi as his "dear friend", Sheikh Mohamed said ties between India are comprehensive and strategic. He praised the values that characterize Indian society in its diversity, especially tolerance, coexistence and respect.

Modi has visited the UAE twice in three years. In his most recent official trip, Modi signed a wide range of agreements with the UAE and launched a project to build Abu Dhabi's first Hindu stone temple. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi also visited India in 2017.

Around two million Indian residents reside in the UAE, representing the country's largest resident population.

    We are proud of our PM Shri Modiji. Whole world is praising him. Hope he gets elected again and again as our PM for the next 10 to 15 years.
    If we give him another 5 years, by the end of his second term, I am sure he will be given a Nobel prize - either Nobel peace prize, or Nobel prize for Economics or atleast a Nobel prize in Science.

    I would think the former Ambassadors like Ansari, Maan Singh and many workers from from Indiga worked for building an enviable relationship between India and Abu Dhabi, Dubai in UAE since many decades. For Modi, I wonder what kind of criteria they have used to honour oth a Zayed medal. Modi will use this as his personal achievement definitely NOT for the Indian Republic and it’s people. All BJP watchmen have already used it as elections tool and we will hear a lot of it for next few weeks!!

    Modi is an opportunist dwelling on the hard work of past leaderships and governments but never appreciate those persons or institutions and claims the honours as his personal achievements.

    The atrocities suffered by muslims and other minorities for the past 5 years do not make him personally great. He has to transform himself from RSS culture to honourably represent greatness of Indian Culture, Traditions for COEXISTENCE and Peace.

    Did you know that not even a single recipient of this award so far is a democratically elected leader. (Google 'Order of Zayed' for details). Fact: All recipients thus far have been dictators of their countries. Noting that Pervez Musharraf was granted this award in 2007 did we think it was such a big deal at that time???

    The Award winner is not the PM but the people who went to the gulf to earn a better living since the PM and the Government cant give them comfortable jobs or their daily bread. Just because of hard working Indian workforce there the award has been given. If there was no existence of Indians working there the Award would not have been conferred.
