Dubai, Apr 4: The movie, 'Mahabharat' which Dubai-based entrepreneur, Dr B R Shetty, had planned to produce with a budget unheard of in Indian cinema, has been assigned to back burner for now.
Dr Shetty revealed that the production of this film had to be put on hold on account of friction between its proposed director and screen play writer. He however, revealed that he has set aside money for this project, and is prepared to produce this movie if he gets a good screen play comes his way.
Dr Shetty had evinced interest in making the movie based on 'Mahabharat' work authored by writer, T Vasudevan Nair. But the plan had to be dropped as doubts arose about this movie getting mired in controversy just like the movie, 'Padmavat'. He said that he was also advised by spiritual Guru, Mata Amritanandamayi, to drop the idea.
The misunderstanding between director Sreekumar Menon and Nair had spilled out into the open recently with Nair approaching the court seeking directions to Sreekumar Menon to return his screen play.
