Mangalore, Mar 15: The Hindu Samajotsava, called for by various spiritual leaders in an effort to unite the Hindus and create a Hindu vote bank, was held at Nehru Maidan on Sunday March 15. The event was organized by the Dharma Raksha Vedike, formed under the leadership of Pejavar Viswesha Theertha Swamiji.

Twenty Swamijis from various Maths in the state participated in the Samajostsava and asked the Hindus to be united in electing an individual who is pro-Hinduism and who works for Hindutva. The Swamijis addressed the gathering from dais which was named ‘Laxmanananda Saraswathi Vedike’.

Surendra Kumar Jain, secretary, VHP central committee, was the main speaker of the Samajostsava who said, “The country and the Hindu youth should unite to build a strong Hindu nation. The country is under attack from conversion, terrorism, and anti-Hindu activities. The so-called secularist politicians, for the sake of the votes of the 12 or 13 percent of minority votes, have failed to form laws against conversion, terrorism, and to protect cows from slaughter.”

Live Like a Hindu

“Live like a Hindu if you want to live in Hindustan. This a warning to all those anti-Hindus, who are doing activities to harm Hinduism. The fact that seers have come out on streets shows that all limits have been crossed by anti-Hindus and when seers get out on streets they create revolution,” said Surendra Jain warning all the anti-Hindu people and so called secular politicians. He said that politicians who cannot stop conversion, cow slaughter, Bangladeshi infiltrators and declare Sri Ram Sethu as national treasure, have no right to rule India.  He said that may it be Amarnath Yathra or Ram Sethu, the Hindu sentiments have been hurt. “Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh have questioned the identity of Sri Ram and said that Ram never lived. This is Sri Ram’s land and he is the identity of Hindus and if anyone questions his identity, will have to face dire consequences,” he said.

Conversion

Calling conversion as the greatest crime, Jain asked the missionaries to practice their religion within the four walls of the church and not resort to conversion in the name of service.

“We will not interrupt you if you conduct masses not only on Sunday but 7 days a week and not for one hour but for 24 hours. But if you resort into conversion, thereby insulting Hinduism and Hindu gods, we will not tolerate,” he said and added that the Churches in North East have built nexus with the terror outfits as it is a known fact that the fathers in these churches are in possession of RDX and other weapons.

“If one Hindu gets converted to Christianity, it is not that number of Hindus decreased by one number or number of Christians increases by one. It means that number of our enemy goes up by one,” he said.

Calling upon the Hindus to be alert, he informed that the terrorists have an aim of converting India into Pakistan by 2020.

“If you want the symphony of recital of Vedas and manthras and not the cacophony of bullets and bombs, wake up Hindus and rise above religion. Elect candidates who are determined to root out conversion and protect Hinduism,” he added.

“These ‘secular’ political leaders have coined the word ‘Hindu terrorism’ to hide their failure in safeguarding the Hindus who are the majority in India. If the Hindus unite, a third world war will happen in their attempt to protect themselves and to protect Hinduism”, he said.

“We will not allow the national flag to be burned inside India in the name of ‘jehad’. Kerala is the launch pad of terrorism and it is supported there”, said Jain.

Sri Gurudevananda Swami of Odiyoor said in his inaugural speech that a Hindu vote bank should be created not as a political move, but as a vote of the Hindu religion. He added that the Hindus should work for the prevention of problems in the country by using spirituality and not weapons.

Sri Ramananda Swami of Kolya Math said, “The Hindus, who are in the majority in this country are treated as second-class citizens. To avoid this, the saffron flag should fly high in the country.”

Sri Vajradehi Rajashekarananda Swami, who administered the oath, said in his speech that Hindus should select a person who is a supporter of Hinduism and who works for Hindutva. He also said that the word ‘Talibanization’, used recently by a central minister should be taken as a challenge for a revolution.

Sri Viswesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejavar Matt said, “Hindus are going to unite to protect the country from conversion, terrorism, cow slaughter, and untouchability”.

A rally was also organized from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan prior to the Samajostva. Members from various Hindu organizations of the district participated in the Samajotsava in large numbers.

Security in the city was tightened and police deployment was at a high from early morning on Sunday.

Shri. Naveen Bandari's down to earth thoughts inspired me to write these few lines. The religious leaders would have used this great occasion to condemn the evil of corruption which is rampant in most parts of our state. Even a sitting MLA has been caught red handed while receiving bribes, in a place , where it is written "Sarakarada kelasa Devara kelasa" its really a painful and costly ommission.

Not a single swamy highlighted the importance of education during this convention which is the base for social and economical development of a country. If any swamiji wishes Rama Rajya then they would have promoted education and upliftment of lower caste of their community. They know very well that if they promoted education, people will get knowledge and will become liberal in their views. If they became liberal the name and fame will vanish. They wont get decorated chairs at functions, unable to travel on luxurious cars and can not lead a posh life on others cost.

So they want to keep the mass under darkness to the maximum in the name of religion. Here the swamiji highlighted 3 issues such as cow slaughter, conversion and terrorism which they want to project as the main hurdles for Rama Rajya. If the ban cow slaughter foreign companies will export beef and these will get he commission from them. Conversion, no one can stop unless otherwise the person who intends to convert reverses his intention. The root cause for the terrorism is upsurge of a fundamental oppression against minority.

Most of the people doesn’t know the background of the swamijis gathered here. Many of them are without any veidik background. As I know personally some of them , they rose to their swamyhood from a low profile.

Those who do not have basic knowledge about the social and economical set up of a country, geographical structure of the country, constitutional rights of our country, how can they preach us on this subject???. They just know few words, Hindutwa, conversion, cow slaughter , terrorism etc, As long as there are people to listen these swamijis, we can not expect communal unity and political stability. If there are communal unity and political stability who need these swamijis.

Swamiji was right hindus should be united cas hindus these days are insecure they need unity and should discuss about how to educate people how to eradicate terrorism not about how to hate muslims nor the other religion people though.

I'm a true muslim i offer 5 times namaaz a day i have ever so many hindu friends, hindus are awesome people they are lovable people ..they love n respect all religion people .. the thing is people of every  religion should be educated first ..you can find no country as india in tis whole world indians are great ..

All these are happenin because of the politicians ..v gotta build a new dal composing hindus muslims christians and also other religion people and should eradicate all communal outfits ..dont look on muslims and understand islam ..instead look on islam and then yo can see true muslims ..

ACTUALLY muslims n hindus love each OTHER to the core but the thing is misunderstanding has rooted up.. V should all work at how to defade misunderstanding at first ..I do respect hindu religion ..and also other religions i just love them as my own family members

A decade back Mulla Omar & kind of Moulvis in Pakistan, were telling the majority there, how muslims been targetted in Israel, West and in India, with their most cooked up stories. Today after a decade Muslims around the world are killed by THEIR OWN PEOPLE more than anyone else targetting them.

If one has to assess they made more harm to their own religion than anyone else. Now I am horrored by the very fact that similar cookedup stories are put on conversions, culture and religion. It is sad, but it is a fact. It will take time to realize the truth. Pakistani's are realizing the bitter truth today after mixing politics with religion. Are we starting to go in the same way? I wont say it is a million dollar question, but certainly I will say it is a million life's question.

Mr jain, let me remind you that Jainism is not a part of Hinduism. When Mahavira got enlightenment and started preaching his prophecies, so called seers have revolted against him and as a result four mutts of sankarachrayas were established. Jainism preaches non violence and vegetarianism. Hindus do slaughter and eat animals. Which Jain sect do you belong? Though Buddhism took birth in India, but it has been expelled from its birth country only to flourish in neighbouring countries. Enough is enough and do not mislead us. We have read and analysed Indian history of great religions.

I do not understand one thing that why even swamiji's do not utter a single word about education, poverty and upliftment of the poor including Dalits. Every one blames Christians for disturbing peace by converting people by inducement. Where is the conversion? Who is responsible? did any one prove a single incident of conversion by registering their complaint or taking up the matter in a dignified/legal/civilised manner? why behave like a goonda? you talk about ancient civilisation, is this our civilisation? you are still uncivilised but only talk about it. It shows clearly that Hindutvawadi's have a very scant respect for rules and think only spilling the blood of innocents by attacking people will work.Only insecure animals attack human beings. Where is their faith in God and faith in democracy? They want the present constitution of India be scrapped and a connstitution of Hegdewar be imposed on all countrymen. They know very well that conversion is not an issue but since other issues can't be raised openly they always use the bogey of conversion as it suits them. If they talk about democracy under RSS ideology even Hindu community will go against it.

Unity between everybody is better than between a few for the country to prosper. In this 21st century we can not go back but forward,  we can not bury our head like ostrich & be narrow minded. By creating rift we are preparing ground for civil war. If missionaries didn't come & gave education to all nobody would've bothered about low castes and would've treated them like brothers.

These people will never let their dominating position, they are exploiting the people, their money in the name of religion. Please don't mix politics in religion, religion in politics.  You are calling others to practice their religion inside the 4 walls, first you follow what you propagate.

Truth will always be bitter.Everybody in this country is equal,as long as democracy survives. We have lived together harmoniously for more than 2000 years, will live together as long as v build bridges between different religious people in future also.

It was a great opportunity for the swamis and hindu leaders to extend their hands towards all communities and try to bridge all misunderstandings through discussions and dialogue. Yet some of the comments are very much disappointing. They will not help bring peace and unite people. I hope at least a few leaders belonging to different religions come together and work in this direction. I hope there will be a Hindustani or Bharathiya samajotsava where people belonging to different faiths come together to celebrate the unity of our country.

The greatest tragedy is that, the majority of educated Hindus become either so called intellectuals or so called secularists or naxalites or anti-hindus. Majority of the Hindus after getting their higher education they forget their religion, god & even their parent's. This is very sad. Getting good education or good job doesn't mean that you forget everything! Hope Hindu samajothsava like this will bring certain changes in educated hindu's.

Thank you Mr. Naveen Shetty for giving this beautiful thought. Yes, the so called leaders were worried about as to how to keep their leadership. How they could keep the audience still under their instructions and never ever bothered to see how best the people's woes could be reduced. Can for heaven's sake these leaders both political and relgious understand that what people today lack is livelihood than empty babbling. What are these religious leaders peractising. Which religion prompts them hate another? If the swamiji is God's person he/she should have tolerated all because all are aiming to go to Gos through his/her way. Appreciate this. Variety is the spice of life and there is not dispute about taste. Each one's taste is different. Therefore, respect this and say that let us "live and let live".

The well known fact which Hindu's hard to digest are as below. 1. Untouchability is praticed by Hindus and they do not want these people give equality. They are not allowed into temples and son on. 2. Demand to stop cow slaughter is just a eye wash in public. It is known fact that everyone including hindus savor the preparations based on beef. If the cow slaugher is banned definitely people will import the stuff from abroad and you can see Australian, NZ and Brazil beef in every nook of the country. 3. Conversion by inducement or by force is illegal but theres no way to stop conversions if the person decides to change his religion. 4. Terrorism has no religion. Any destructive acts which are against the laws of the land and society can be termed as terrorism. The last but not the least why this conclave did not raise any issues regarding to the upliftment of the hindus as a whole both economically and spiritually? The answer is simple they does not want the change in the society because the leaders are afraid that the people will come to know their true colors.

You are a Majority but are united as if like Minority. Afraid of unity so to prove identity ? A cheap pre-election excercise. No takers ! Election will prove it becoz WE ARE ALL ONE with different secular parties. This is our Great India and not only Great Hindus !

The Hindus have every right to defend their relegion and the country against the activities of conversion of Dalits, terrorism, and anti-Hindu activities. In order regain the peaceful co-existence between relegions which prevailed for centuries in India, these problems should be addressed and resolved once for all.
