Mangalore: Producers Wary of Making Films on HIV, Says Nagathihalli

Mangalore, Mar 21: Noted film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar said on Saturday March 21 that producers hesitate to produce a film on the life of HIV positive people because they are worried that the film may not see much financial gains as a result of a lack of audience. 
 
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating ‘Maardhani’ a documentary focusing on social problems associated with HIV at the auditorium in Hotel Srinivas. The event was organized by Samiksha Trust.

“I would like to direct a film on HIV positive people. We should use communication tools to disseminate the life of AIDS patients”, claimed Nagathihalli.

He alleged that third world countries have been treated as dustbins by the corporate world which sells expired medicines to India and other poor countries of Asia and Africa.

“HIV positive Veenadhari has undertaken a movement against the fake medicine racket successfully. Self-confidence is a very important factor in curing a disease”, said Nagathihalli.
 
He added that man has invited various diseases by exploiting nature and stressed that prevention of environment pollution is crucial to protecting the biological balance.
 
Distirct-in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar, former mayor K Diwakar, Veenadhari’s  father Venkatesh, and Reshma G Ullal were present on the occasion.
