NAGPUR, Mar 22: The BJP's prime ministerial candidate, L K Advani, on Sunday attributed his achievements in political life to RSS.

"Whatever I am today, I owe it to RSS," Advani told reporters here.

Earlier, RSS had said it would be happy if Advani becomes the prime minister.

On a brief visit to city, Advani met the new Sar Sanghchalak (RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwat and Sar Karyawaha Suresh alias Bhaijjaji Joshi.

To a question Advani said he was here to meet the new leadership during the concluding day of the three-day Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the apex council of Sangh Parivar.

"A new era of RSS has begun," the BJP leader said referring to the change of guard in the RSS hierarchy.

He recalled the history of the 83-year-old organisation and his association with it when he had visited it first time before Independence as 'Bal Swayamsewak'.

The sabha assumed significance in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections next month.
