Dubai: Vincent Pereira re-elected President of Ferarites-UAE

Dubai, Mar 26: Ferarties-UAE, a premier association of Ferar parishioners in Dubai in a recently held general body meeting unanimously elected Vincent Pereira as their President for the second time (2009-2011). Ferarite-UAE was incepted in Jan, 2007.
The main objective of the meeting was to elect the new office bearers for the year 2009-2011.
The meeting commenced with a short prayer by Vice President-Norbert Sequeira followed by welcome note by Advisor-Cyril Pereira
Leslie Pinto-General Secretary read out report on past activities and achievements of the association and various programmes conducted by it during the last two years.
Leslie Fernandes-Treasurer presented audited financials since inception and kept the book of accounts open for members review.
Cyril Pereira conducted the election process while the members called on the nominees.
Vincent Pereira requested the members to relieve him of his responsibilities in order to provide opportunity for others. Since, Ferarites-UAE has seen tremendous progress under his dynamic leadership in leading the infant association into a matured body and in view of the commendable job done during the past two years in all sphere of activities he was unanimously elected President for the next two years.
Norbert Sequeira, Cyril Pereira, Leslie Pinto, Leslie Fernandes, Clara Fernandes, Cyril Pereira & Roshni Alvares were unanimously re-elected for the posts of Vice President, Advisor, General Secretary, Treasurer, Sports Coordinator & and Media Coordinator.
Due to the excellent work done by the existing committee, all were re-elected with some changes in their portfolios based on the need and a few sub committee members were inducted into the new core committee purely on the basis of their performance.
Later, a few amendments proposed by the members were incorporated in to the constitution in the interest of the association.
Cyril Pereira & Norbert Sequeira gave motivating speeches calling for their unity and need to welcome more Ferarites to join the association in order to provide seamless service to the community.
Vincent Pereira in his vote of thanks thanked all the committee members for reposing their confidence in him and re-electing him for the second time. In his speech he mentioned that the success of all the events organized was truly possible with the selfless efforts and support of not just the members but their family members as well. He lauded support of Ferarites for standing by the association in carrying out its activities smoothly. He detailed out some future plans for the coming months which will be published shortly.
He thanked all the sponsors and donors who supported the association in all the events contributing to its success in fulfilling the main goal of Ferarites-UAE in “Reaching out and touching lives of others” He requested for their future support as well.
He thanked Walter Nandalike-Editor-in-chief-Daijiworld and his team, Mr Herman Lewis & team(Radio Spice-105.4) for their unstinted support in providing media coverage and requested for their support in the future as well. They stood by us all the time he said.
The meeting was concluded with a short prayer followed by the Hymn “Argam Thuka Somiyam”.
