Dubai: Kapikad's troup arrives for Double Comedy Dhamaka

Dubai, Mar 26: A 16-member troupe of the “Cha Parka” group, led by Cine star, Telikeda Bolli Devdas Kapikad arrived at Dubai International Airport, on the midnight of Mar 25, 2009.
Team convener Sharmila Kapikad expressed her happiness over the fourth consecutive tour to Dubai, which has not been done by any other troupe from Mangalore. "Both Eer Undara" and 'Kebi Pithale' plays are packed with comedy and a good moral plot.
Everyone must watch and enjoy this play, as both plays have been tremendously successful back home in Mangalore and Mumbai, said Sharmila speaking to daijiworld.com reporter at the airport.
Evergreen Devdas Kapikad, who is known for his stage plays as well as the recent and successful 'Venkata in Sankata' Kannada movie is too delighted to be here for the fourth time with his troupe. Kapikad said, "Stage play is my first priority, and I will continue to write, direct and act in the Tulu plays. Kannada filmdom is my second priority" he said.
His first movie has got great response all over Karnataka, and he is receiving many calls for more Kannada movies.
Friday's plays in Dubai have already seen unprecedented ticket sales. Tickets of AED 30 and AED 50 sections are already sold out, according to co-organizer and Cha Parka team's Mumbai organizer Karnoor Mohan Rai. Rai who has camped in Dubai since last one month to set the ground work and look after other logistic requirements, told daijiworld that only few tickets of AED 100 denomination are available.
Kapikad plays are always popular. People here in UAE are eagerly waiting for the shows, he said.
Tulu Koota Dubai under the leadership of C R Shetty is supporting the cause along with many other Tulunadu friends in UAE. He also hailed media coverage of Daijiworld.com which helped them to sell the tickets well in advance.
