Dubai: Top Konkani Comedians Set to Perform  Under One Roof..

Dubai, Mar 29: Daiji Dubai Writers forum is bringing top comedians from Mangalore and Dubai to perform under one roof, making  its decennial celebrations  unique and a memorable one.

The  comfortable Shiekh Rashid Auditorium at  Indian High School Dubai will be the venue.  April 17, 2009 evening will surely have  the  UAE Konkani crowd entertained  with lots of music, comedy, dance and the presence of some great personalities  from around the world.

'Comedy Circus' will be the highlight of the program along with musical entertainment. Music  direction from  famous music maestro , Adrian Gomes from Kuwait, Singers dream boy Rony D'Cunha, young playback singer Anitha Samson, Gulf Voice of Mangalore Vinay Lewis, comedy singer with amazing talent  Keny from Mumbai and other local artistes will take centre stage.

Jerry Rasquinha, undoubtedly  one of the  senior most and well respected top class comedian from Mangalore will also make his presence felt. His recent shows along with singer - comedian Joseph Pinto (Duje) in Mangalore, Mumbai, Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain and elsewhere proved that, he has his own class in comedy shows. Jerry - Duje duo will perform some of the finest short skits to entertain the crowd.

Young Neville Vegas, known as 'Nellu Permannur', noted for his  drama writing , direction and acting skills will be another attraction for the evening along with Alwyn Vegas, who is also part of Nellu's Asal Kalakar. This duo has recently performed in Kuwait, Doha, Mumbai and Mangalore with unique styles of comedy skits. Their presence on 'Daiji Utsav' will  surely enhance  the quality of show.

Dubai's own, a multi talented entertainer, Dayan D'Souza is an actor par excellence. His roles in Konkani dramas were always a hit and appreciated by all. Dayan will be on stage after a long gap along with his Daiji Rangamandhir troupe.

These combined teams who will perform more than 90 minutes of comedy entertainment,  will surely  ease the work related  tension  of the UAE audience.

It is always known that, demand for tickets come at the  last moment, and many people will be deprived of a  chance to watch such a  quality program .

Hurry-up now, tickets are for sale  at popular outlets like Shezan Restaurant, Winnys Resturant, Canara Restaurant, along with some Daiji Dubai members.

    Although we left the Gulf region 30 years ago, it is fascinating to watch so much of emphasis placed in uplifting the Konkany language thru so many Konkany performances on the stage. So much of interaction amongst people of all regions and so much of travel back and forth. We sincerely wish to complement hundreds of Konkany stalwarts that have taken so much of initiatives by investing their precious time and money in encouraging so many talents and celebrities to appear on the stage in the Arab world. This is not only a part of the Konkany cultural boost, but also an economic and moral boost. We all remain grateful to all those that continuously render their expertize for the cause of cultural unity and integrity that brings so much of credit to the community and our country. God bless one and all of you.
