Beltangady, May 4: Two persons died after a tree fell on their car on the national highway near Siddavana Gurukula at Ujire here on Saturday May 4.
The deceased have been identified as Vignesh (21), a resident of Ninnikallu, Ujire, and Kshithij Jain (24) of Madanthyar.
Two others who were in the car sustained injuries.

It is learnt that the friends had been to Dharmasthala and the accident took place on the way back. They were travelling in a Hyundai Verna car.
Vignesh is said to have died on the spot while a seriously injured Kshithij was rushed to hospital, but breathed his last on the way.
The car was completely mangled in the accident.
Sources said that the two persons who were sitting in the front seats of the car escaped with injuries thanks to the airbags, while Vignesh and Kshithij who were in the backseat died.
