Mangalore, Apr 8: The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) on Wednesday April 8, arrested a Bangladeshi national who was found wandering at a city park in the afternoon.
The arrested has been identified as 23-year-old Mohammed Azam Khan, son of Siddiq Ahmed, Borsha Maz, Purbo Zavara East Post, under the limits of Chandanesh police station, Chittagong district, Bangladesh.

Khan had no passport in his possession and is presumed to have infiltrated into India by crossing the border illegally.  Hence, he was handed over to the custody of the city south police, in order to take legal action.

Dakshina Kannada district intelligence department inspector H N Venkatesh Prasanna and other policemen were involved in carrying out the arrest.

The police department in a press release sought the assistance of the general public in reporting any such cases of trespassing. An increasing number of Bangladeshi nationals are being entering Indian Territory after crossing the borders illegally.

Kevin Mascarenhas, Mangalore/UAE When go through the recent blasts investigations which ultimately led to the arrest of few Bangladeshi Nationals n the game plans behind their aim to disturb the peace in the country. It should be noted that the illegal immigrants in to our country through North Eastern states by the Bangladeshis are going on for several years inspite of our security forces efforts. The pity is that some of the authorities being hand in glove to assist these anti nationals.

Also a shocking news Bangladeshi elements formed a group of United Jihadi Counsil with the blessings of ISI of Pakistan. Bangladeshi nationals after entering our country, spread to settle in various cities, were able to get the ration cards, Voters ID as Indian citizens. Some of them even got their PANCARD. time to investigate the racket behind their Indian connections too... Time to awake, to snap terrorism in the bud, to stop inflitrations of Bangla deshi jihadi outfits through North Eastern States of India. It's much to protect our border with strongly wired fences.

Readers comments are very intresting as there are different points of view. It also shows us what stereo typing does to our thought process. Someone rightly pointed out that after partition we suddenly became them and us. Yes the need of the hour is to find a solution to make living safe for all. India should take the lead by helping neighbouring countries to develop which will result in jobs available to them in their own countires and prevent the influx. Everyone agrees migration happens out of need. India also needs to create jobs for its locals so they do not go outside especially Gulf and get exploited. Since we cannot change our neighbours we should adopt a policy to help them by setting up joint ventures in their countries so industries flourish there and Economics becomes the Solution.

Dear Monu... Nepali's are allowed to enter India without passport and Visa.. And in Srilanka our Indian Tamil Tigers have  entered without passport and visa.. It's not a matter of mohammad or mohan.. if anybody is doing something illegal he should be punished.. If  you know any mohan from srilanka you can inform the  nearest police station.. Nepalis are officially  allowed to stay in India.. This shows your ignorance and exposes your narrow mindedness!

Dear Sha Nawaz, During & after Indo/Pak war 1947, 1965, 1971 more than 1 crore Bangladeshis entered India & became Indians. And local people politicaly & socialy marginalised. This is main cause of wide-spread insurgency and militancy in Tripura,Assam,Manipura.

Some hawkish politicians from Maharashtra tried to deport them from Mumbai. But NO use. Regarding National ID Card. It is NO use.Thousands of Illegals got PassportS,voter ID Card & PAN Card & still getting.

The question is not, how many of them are caught, or which religion they belong. The question is, what ideology they practice, what is the threat perception to our country, though all of them might not have entered India to create tension, but just for bread and shelter. Nepalese, Srilankans, even poor Bangladeshi do not intend to create/spread unrest, violence in India.

But Terror Masters across the border, now having established camps atIndo- Bangla border, as per IB ,and Bangladesh Govt information, are definately matter of concern.. Going by the history, Nepal or Srilankan Govt has not adventured 'Gus bait'(SNEAKING).Hence it is imperative on part of everyone to be more vigilant, whenever people from that part of world are illegally found staying within our peace loving town.

Very good news.... One Bangladeshi is caught.... I wish any one responsible to uphold the rights of Indian citizens and nationals and to prevent any near future wake up and see how many Srilankan Tamil Tigers and BanglaDeshi illigals and militants are already well settled in India. If Tamils are cleared from Srilanka and have fled where else could they go other than Karnataka,Kerala and Tamilnadu?? Catching one Illegal Bangladeshi is news and Allowing Illeigal neighbours in thousands is Human rights?? and then facing Crime and looting and balming the natives for trouble???Is the state government expecting some Votes here...? Sure we can blame the Indian Government... But for other more serious things of security states do not think they need to co-ordinate with the centre...

The presence of illegal men of any nationality is a great threat to the internal and external secuity of India. The best way to deal with this situation is to introduce compulsory national identity cards to our bonafide nationals. Before issuing such ID cards, identification and address verification needs to be done and need to be certified by the Magistrate of the area. Before doing this, we must root our corruption. Corruption in society leads to lot of menance. How Rajiv Gandhi was killed? How mumbai was attacked on 26/11. Let us not politicise the issue of illegals staying in our country. Let us make a very honest effort to eliminate this problem. Let the ruling and the opposition sit together and find out a consensual approach to tackle this problem. If not solved now, it may overgrow and India may become a refugee center for foreign immigrants. National security is very important and at the same time intenal security is more important than the external security. No goverment or party should be soft on these issues. India should not be a transit point for any illegal activities or any anti national activities. Its the ruling governmnet's responsibility. The oposition must co operate in this matter.

I have been writing to DAIJI repeatedly reagarding illegal Bangladeshis stay in Udupi and Mangalore. Somehow report was not published by you. Now you got the proof. There are 1000 illegal Bangldeshis in Karnataka according to Intelligence report.

Their main aim is to settle here ,take ration card/pan card and enjoy the rights of Voting and spread communal violence between Hindus and Local muslims. Political leaders keep quiet to get votes.

This is visible especially in Assam,Tripura,Bengal States. Common people should protest irrespective of religion and save our motherland.

Dear Indian Friends, Millions of Indian Citizens have illegally and legally Immigrated/Migrated to Africa, Middle East, Far East, Orient, and Europe & Americas. India has economically, Educationally, Culturally benefited from Immigration to other Nations. I see them every place on earth. 99.99% of people Immigrate from one country to other country are to have better living conditions, People Immigrate/Migrate to prevent hunger & poverty.

No other Nation in the world benefited more than India from Immigration to other Countries. Bangladeshis are poor people like millions of Indians and are culturally part of Indian Bengali culture & were part & parcel of India until 1947.

Stop the hatred help the immigrants, Show mercy just like your country man are helped & given mercy by other nationals everyday in the Immigration waiting halls, jails, docks around the world. Wake up my Indian Friends. Show mercy to others just like you get it every day from others. May God Bless India

This is very common in Assam. and also it is being said that the congress government is giving all these illegal sneakers with the election id just 3 days after they settle there. Today the percentage of refugees in these places have come to more than 50% eg..during the time of independence the total number of minorities in Jammu and Kashmir was 2%, now its around 40% . this is the gift of congress towards the country.

They caught just one Bengali in Mangalore and it is a great news!! There are millions of them in Bombay and other metro-cities of India. Tripura and Assam are full of them. Neither India is interested in sending them back or at least preventing them from entering our country, nor Bangladesh wants them back. I met many "Indian" Bangladeshis in the Gulf countries who arrive there from India after obtaining Indian passports.

During their annual vacation, they apply for Bangladeshi visa in order to visit their home as they cannot travel to their country without Bangladeshi visa. It is strange but true. I met many Bangladeshis in Toronto too. When asked, they say they traveled by ship through some other countries and finally enter Canada, the US or the European countires. After remaining there for few years, they obtain their legal papers and bring their whole family to join them.

First of all - Congrats for the good job done by the Police. But as the article says, the man was 'wandering' at a city park. No hi-fi criminal will wander around. He must be some isolated lost character. The real culprits coming in from across the borders go underground immidiately with the help of the local contacts. It would be a real feat to catch them as they land or at some later stage. By this way, the chain of contacts could be found out after interrogration. In summary: I appriciate the Police, but at the same time, wish them all the success in catching the big sybdicates smuggling in Banladeshi's.

Lot of such illegal people have entered the city and try to damage the peace loving people. Police should keep a close watch on Srilankan nationality may be they are booked by LTTE Terror groups who are most dangerous terroist in the world. Lets do not devide community on terrorism because it has no relegion. Let police focus on every terrorist organisation and let media give the headlines to all such terror groups.
