Udupi, Apr 11: A dazzling century (126, 2x6, 23x4) by Divyesh enabled Nethaji Sports Club, Parkala to carve out a huge win against S R M Cricketers, Karkala by a margin of 246 runs in a first round match held at KMC Stadium Manipal, as part of Udupi District Cricket League-cum knock-out hardball cricket tournament conducted by Udupi District Cricket Association, Udupi for the Manipal University rolling shield. Divyesh reached his century in just 58 balls and scored 126 runs in 72 balls. Batting first, Netaji Sports Club recorded a big total of 318 runs in the allotted 30 overs for the loss of seven wickets.  Achuth Bhat also played a superb innings of 72 runs.  Opener Dr Dhananjay scored 41 runs while Nagaraj added 25 runs.

In reply, batsmen of SRM Karkala failed to efficiently negotiate the excellent bowling spells of Rahul Kotian (18 for 5) and Anwar (14 for 2) and were bundled out for a paltry 72 runs.
 
In other matches of the tourney, Kasturba Medical College Manipal beat Dawood Cricket club of Shirva with a margin of seven runs, Manipal College of Pharmaceuticals beat MESCOM Cricket Club by a margin of 61 runs and United Cricketers Shirva beat S B C Cricket club Karkala with a margin of one wicket.
