Bangalore: Kharge Resigns as Leader of the Opposition, Siddu to Take Over
Daijiworld Media Network

Bangalore, Apr 12: Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, S Mallikarjun Kharge resigned from the post here today.

Kharge, who is also the Congress candidate from Gulbarga Lok Sabha reserved constituency, sent his resignation to the high command today morning.
However, the high command has not accepted his resignation yet.

Congress leader and former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah is expected to be the next leader of Opposition.

It is said that the high command itself has come up with this strategy to accommodate Siddaramaiah as Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. This is to ensure that Siddaramaiah campaigns for the party during the Lok Sabha election campaign and brings in the backward class vote, something he failed to do in the recent Assembly byelections. He is said to be nursing a grudge that the party has not given him a post befitting his stature. Also, by nominating Kharge as the party candidate from Gulbarga, the party wants to ensure that the support base of the party among the Scheduled Castes is not disturbed.

I will be very glad if Siiddu becomes Leader of the opposition in the karnataka assembly and carries with him as leader of all the communities in Karnataka state as Shri Dev Urs did in the early 80''s,Because many stalwarts left due to the negligence of Kharghe''s incopetence to keep the flock together.

Nagesh Naik, Bangalore, if you are the same person who called me Simon Uncle this morning, I am so proud of you. You followed three little etiquettes that we discussed few hours ago. We also request you to use a space after a comma in a sentence. There is pause that reader takes when there is a coma in the sentence. This is the first time, sincerely, you are showing some sense by not typing in caps and not being arrogant, even though your comment is your opinion and shows your true color of partisanship of your support to the opposite party.

It is better late than never. The decision should have been taken much before to avert damage done to the party. Dynamic leaders should be given their right places to lead the party to victory. I am sure, Siddu would do a great deal of work to the party as well as to the people of Karnataka.

Congress Party must be like river flowing. Just handful of seniors managing the affairs for so long, not inspiring youth. SIDDARAMAIYYA an excellent organiser and a powerful orator can do justice to the post of opposition leader!! it sent shock waves to BJP / JDS already. Congress now on come back trial. Congress can not be defeated by BJP OR FOR THAT MATTER ANY PARTY, ITS ONLY CONGRESSMEN WITHIN. Kharge a honest / sincere dalit leader will be given more responsibilities at centre. Lets hope, better days are ahead in Karnataka.

Well said Ramcharan, No single party is secular and the politicians are the ones who break the society for the sake of votes. A politician blaming BJP today is seen in BJP tomorrow.

Unfortunately, Indian politics has become a game of money & power. No single party is 'Secular'.Every party issues ticket based on money power and religion.Looks like our country is heading for the worst. If Siddu was busy pressurising the high command for the said post. May be he would have quit the party and joined BJP which, as per 'him' is a 'communal' party. This is the sorry state of us Indians. Alas, save our country......!!

Kharge should be thrown out of Congress. This should have been done after the Assembly Elections one year ago. Kharge cannot talk properly and its looks like a BONE stuck in his throat. Disgusting person. Congrats Kharge for resigning. Dharam Singh also should follow the same before he is thrown who cannot even walk properly.

This is the right decision taken by the high command of congress, though Karge may be the old tiger of Congress, but Siddaramahya is a perfect opposition leader , who can fight for the justice. Our best wishes for Siddaramahya to fight for any community, as long as it is good for the society.
