Udupi: 'Divine Grace Spurs one to Take to Social Service'

Udupi, Apr 13: Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt said that divine grace is necessary for a person to be inspired to take up social service. A selfless life has the potential to infuse self-confidence and courage in people. An internal yearning and regular prayers for the welfare of everyone in the world paves way for a  life of fulfillment, he pointed out.

He was delivering the benedictory address at the sixth annual public Satyanarayana Puja, Shani Puja and felicitation programme organized under the aegis of Kattattur Kottari Ashwathakatte and Janasamparka Janaseva Mandali on Sunday April 12 at Kaup near here. He added, the life of a human being who has spiritual leanings and concern for social welfare is well lived. The Swamiji also exhorted the Tuluvas settled elsewhere to honestly strive for the conservation of their other tongue, culture and heritage.








On the occasion, UAE Exchange general manager and non-resident Indian (NRI) Y Sudhir Kumar Shetty couple were felicitated. Entrpreneur and social worker Suresh Shetty from Kalattur Gurma, now settled in Bellary, were also honoured.

Kalatur shekhar B Shetty, NRI and Kannada Rajyotsava awardee, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he said his birth place has inspired all his achievements and the culture, tradition and life style of Tulunadu are the best of all.

Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari temple chief priest Vedamurti Anantapadmanabha Asranna and Mangalore St Aloysius College Kannada lecturer Ganesh Amin Sankamar delivered the felicitation addresses. Udupi Group of Hotels director Kushala Shekhar Shetty Abu Dhabi distributed prizes. On this occasion, 12 students from Kalattur area were adopted.

Kutyar gram panchayat president Nityanand Shetty, Manjeshwar Shani temple trustee Krishna Bhat, KMF Mangalore manager D S Hegde, chief executive president of Janasamparka Janaseva Mandali Kalattur Diwakar B Shetty and Puja organizer Vedamurty Raghavendra Bhat Kalattur were present.






Some other distinguished personalities of the region like Lakshyminarayan Upadhyaya, Kadandale Narayan Bhat and Yogish Achrya werre also honoured. Advocate Umesh Shetty Kalattur welcomed. Teacher Nirmal Kumar Hegde and Balakrishna Shetty presented the programme.
