Karkala: Renovated St Victor's Church of Nellikar Blessed - Platinum Jubilee Celebrated

Karkala, Apr 14: The platinum jubilee celebrations and blessing of the renovated St Victor's church of Nellikar near here was held on Tuesday April 14.

The renovated church was blessed by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore. He also inaugurated the renovated presbytery and blessed the newly-erected altar of the church. The church was inaugurated by Rudolf Mascarenhas. The newly-built Grotto of the church too was blessed on the occasion.

Earlier Bishop Aloysius was welcomed by parish priest Fr Anthony Lasrado and parish council vice-president Richard Moras.

After the inauguration and blessing of the church, Bishop Aloysius celebrated the solemn Eucharistic celebration. Parish priest Fr Anthony Lasrado and many priests and religious from the deanery as well as other places concelebrated the Eucharist. Hundreds of parishioners partook in the Eucharist with great devotion and solemnity.

Later a formal stage programme was held to mark the platinum jubilee of the church. Mulky-Moodbidri MLA Abhaychandra Jain was the chief guest of the programme. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Sr Precilla D'Mello.

    Congratulations !!! FR antony and parishners of Nellikar church , you all have done a wonderful job. It is great to see new church that has the  original look. Hats off to Mr Pinto  without damaging old church and regaining its original beauty, and constructing new church really tough job.

    Renovated church looks very nice. Congrts Fr. Anthony & all the parishioners of Nellikar, church looks beautiful, I feel very happy to see the new look of church its all because of your(Fr. Anthony) hard work, May he shower his blessing on all of us.
