Mangalore: Dr Veerendra Heggade Donates Rs 3 Lakhs to Ave Maria Palliative Care

Mangalore, Apr 14: At an informal meeting on April 14, 2009, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade and Hemavathi V. Heggade presented a cheque for Rs. 3 Lakhs from Shree Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) for sponsoring a patient care room to Dr. Lavina Noronha, Director, Ave Maria Palliative Care, Vamanjoor, Mangalore. Jayashankar Sharma, Director, SKDRDP was also present.
 
Ave Maria Palliative Care provides holistic comfort care to patients diagnosed with terminal conditions in the final days and weeks of their life. The services are provided free of cost to people of all faiths at the residential unit located in Vamanjoor, Mangalore. Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade commended the efforts of AMPC in bringing quality end-of-life care to people of all religions and for facilitating disposal of the dead by families in accordance with their respective faiths.
