Mangalore: Masood Nursing College Celebrates First Graduation Day

Mangalore, Apr 19:  “As a profession, nursing is greater than other medical professions as it includes a lot of sacrifice and service”, said Dr S Ramananda Shetty, vice-chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. 

He was speaking at the graduation day of the first batch of BSc Nursing and the lamp lighting ceremony of the fifth batch of BSc Nursing and GNM students of Masood School and College of Nursing on Saturday April 18. 

“Sacrifices in the nursing profession are always noted and the dignity of this profession is different from others. Giving service to society is always recognized with greatness”, said Dr Shetty. 

























 

He also wished the graduates a bright future and said that in every profession, humanity is noted and humanity is the best service which can be provided by mankind.  

K S Mohammad Masood, former MLC and former chairman of Karnataka State Minorities Commission, presided over the ceremony.  

Dr Nelie S  Boma, chief  medical  officer,  medical  affairs, Al Rahba Hospital, UAE, and Prof Theresa Mendonca, vice- principal, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, were the guests of honour.  

Dr Richard James D’Souza, Dr Arif Mohmmad Masood, Abid Jalihal, Mohammad Asif Masood, and principals of the institute Veena Gretta Tauro and Greesh Jose were also present.

    Congratulations to the founders, management & staff, last but not the least the graduates of the ‘Masood Nursing College’ on the occasion of its first Graduation Day celebration held on 18th April 2009. Besides serving the people of Karnataka for decades it seems Mr Masood had a vision of going globally for serving the humanity perennially. What a wonderful and novel idea! Nursing, an honourable profession and a service to humanity, day in and day out, keeping ones own necessities and happiness at bay. A discipline well and timely chosen by the founders which the whole world is presently in need of and the graduated force is likely to be absorbed globally. Given pics depict and witness a well organized and disciplined institution. Well done Brother Masood and all the concerned! Almighty may bless you all – keep going with many such projects! Moral: Let us get into such constructive job, forgetting the differences.

    I am quite impressed going through the report of the first graduation ceremony of this Nursing college, just in the vicinity of our Infant Jesus Shrine. I am proud of Mrs. Veena Tauro, my cousin, the Principal of the Nursing College, for her herculian efforts in shaping this Institute. The attire attire is befitting the occasion and I am quite impressed. I wish the managaement and the staff all the best. God bless you!
