Dubai: ‘Rang Tarang’ on May 1: Pokri Pernal to Stage ‘Chintun Polle’

Dubai, April 21: Intense preparations are on for the Konkani 3-in-1 mega event ‘Humaid Al Suwaidi Rang Tarang’, a three-in-one enthusiastic Konkani extravaganza which will be held on May 1, at the Shaikh Rashid Auditorium Dubai. Undoubtedly, this event will be a rare presentation with lots of glitz and glamour.
The event will start at 4.00 pm sharp with live singing. Gates open at 3.00 pm. Organisers have confirmed that main focus of the entire event will be entertainment.
Konkani drama Al Raien Metallic “Chintun Polle“
Konkani hilarious family drama ‘Chintun Polle’, written by Dony Correa and directed by well-known Tulu, Kannada stage artist Vishwanath Shetty will be the third part of the entertainment. Pokri Pernal, the in-house culture troupe of FAMAD Pernal will stage this play.
FAMAD Pernal is famous for staging various superb Konkani and Tulu performances and winning several awards for their talents, the latest being the coveted ‘Daiji Dubai Protibha Spordho’, apart from the Daiji Dubai drama competition and SMKC’s variety entertainment competition.

Cynthia Pinto, one of the most acclaimed Konkani, Tulu, Kannada stage actors in Dubai will be in lead role along with Dinesh Correa. Charli Kombalke, Vincy Lobo, Elvis, Lovery, Freida, Jyothi, Cleevan, Veena, Kishore, Veena D’Sa. Kethan D’Souza will provide music.
Vishwanath Shetty, director of the drama, has been associated with Pokri Pernal where he directed the super hit Tulu play ‘Aapini Poora Eddege’ in 2007. Speaking to daijiworld.com director Vishwananth Shetty expressed his happiness towards the practice and the outcome of the drama. “Pokri Pernal is a dedicated and hard-working team which always strives for excellence”, he explained. “But the main thing is the talents the members possess”, he said.
Dony Correa, president of FAMAD Pernal and a talented singer actor, is making his debut as a playwrite.
‘Integrated Freight & Logistics Sangeet Suwad’
The event will kick-off at 4.00 pm with ‘Integrated Freight & Logistics Sangeet Suwad’, which will be a live-in-concert by Dony Correa, first runner-up of Gulf Voice of Mangalore, and one of the most acclaimed Konkani singers in this part of the world. Rendering their voices along with him will be good singers like Asha Fernandes, Rony Byndoor, Lydwin Cutinha, Godwin D’Souza, Asha Correa, Veera Rodrigues and Dinesh Correa.

Main attraction of ‘Integrated Freight & Logistics Sangeet Suwad’ will be live presentation of Konkani traditional ‘Mando’ and ‘Dekhnni’. Ocean Kids dance troupe and other dancing talents will present live dances.
Talented musicians like Arun Carlo, Kethan D’Souza, Vincent Rodrigues, Ramiro Mascarenhas, Roshan Carlo, Sameer, Rajesh Kuttar will provide music.
‘Merit Freight FAMAD Dance Challenge 2009’ Grand Finale
Eight super-talented kids of UAE will fight it out at the Grand Finale of ‘Merit Freight FAMAD Dance Challenge 2009’ which is already talk of the town and will be the second attraction of the event. Winner of this competition will awarded with ‘Konkani Nach Kumvor / Kumvorn’ (Konkani dance prince / princess) title along with citation and a cash prize of Dh3003. First runner-up will get citation and a cash prize of Dh2002. The second runner-up will receive Dh1001 and citation. ‘Best choreographer’ and ‘Best Costume’ are the special prizes at the ‘Merit Freight FAMAD Dance Challenge 2009’ Indeed, it will be a treat to watch the youngster render their best dancing skills at the competition.

Organisers claim that it will be hosted at par with other television dance reality shows, with all glitter and glamour.
