Kuwait: 'Mama Marinaka' Comedy Enthralls Konkani Buffs

Kuwait, April 24: Kullvar rangmanchi, kuwait a group of Konkani artistes with Konkani Kullvar Kuwait presented one act modern comedy drama `MAMA MARINAKA’ on 24th April, 2009 at American International School Auditorium, Maidan Hawally.

The program started at 5.30 pm with video presentation on the making of drama and artistes.  MC Roshan D’Silva welcomed the gathering followed by formal inauguration with lighting of lamp by John Fernandes, Felix D’Souza, Lawrence Pinto, Marian D’Souza, Rocky Lewis, Lancy Pinto Nayak and Carol Martis.

The Drama was written by 'Daiji Dubai' award winning writer Shaan Bondel and directed by prominent Director Lancy Pinto Nayak, Kulshekar.  The melodrama starts in a hospital ward and ends in the same ward with lot of fun and comedy.  The story rotates among four characters- a police, a Politician, a classical singer and a person affected by foreign culture representing the Indian Police, politics, Classical singing and culture. 

The success of the drama is a result of hard work done by Writer, director along with eighteen actors, trained since November 1st, 2008, who performed in this melodrama. It was an exclusive presentation of both New and old Konkani artists together on one stage.  Everyone tried hard to fill life in their character and succeeded to fulfill the same.

During the interval, Main sponsors,  John Fernandes (Power Control) and  representative of Felex D’Souza (Al-Rathath Est.) were honored with flowers and memento by Lancy Pinto Nayak.  Carol martis delivered the vote of thanks.  At the end the drama team was introduced by Lancy Pinto Nayak.  It was a nice relief for the Konkani speaking audience to laugh and forget the tension of daily routine.
