Mangaluru: Saint Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu observes second day of Novena

Mangaluru, Jun 1: The second day novena of Saint Anthony’s feast was held on June 1 at St Anthony’s ashram chapel, Jeppu.

Fr Roshan Osmond D’Souza, asst director of the institutes offered Holy Mass for the intention of leaders. In his homily he highlighted the quality of leadership demonstrated by Lord Jesus in His service.

St Anthony in his lifetime served the poor after the example of Jesus. If he wanted he could have become a wealthy man as he came from a wealthy family, but he chose to follow Jesus and serve the poor he said. He also called on the participants to pray for all those who serve people in their various capacities either in church or in society.

Fr Onil D’Souza, director of the ashram recited the chaplet and the rosary. Fr Thrishan D’Souza, asst director conducted the novena. Hundreds of devotees participated in the devotion.
