Mangaluru, Jun 3: On the solemnity of Our Lord’s Ascension on June 2, Sunday Catechism was inaugurated at St Joseph Vaz Church, Mudipu during the morning Mass.

The inauguration was done as per the directives of Diocesan Biblical Catechetical and Liturgical Commission (DBCLC).The inauguration comprised of enthronement of the Bible and watering the plants by teachers and student representatives as a sign of nurturing our nature and learning from it. The theme of Catechetical year is ‘Nature is our Mother and Teacher- Way to faith Education’.

Fr Shaun Rodrigues, presided over the Eucharistic celebration and highlighted the importance of faith formation. He also gave a call to learn from the nature. Fr Benjamin Pinto, the parish priest presided over the oath taking ceremony of the catechism teachers.

Agnes D’Souza, the coordinator of Sunday Catechism looked after the necessary arrangements. Catechism teachers conducted the liturgy in a prayerful manner.
