Udupi: MP Shobha, MLA Bhat visit Baje dam to assess water situation

Udupi, Jun 3: MP of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Shobha Karandlaje and MLA Raghupati Bhat visited Baje dam on Sunday, June 2 to assess the situation that has caused alarming water scarcity in the city.

They checked he water level and pump installation. Earlier, MLA Bhat had taken stringent measures to supply water to the city by removing the barriers responsible for the uninterrupted water supply. He has also personally supervised the dredging process. Now both the MP and MLA have visited the dam together to investigate the issue.

BJP chief secretary Yashpal Suvarna, Kabbettu Praveen Kumar Shetty, zilla panchayat president Dinakar Babu, city president Prabhakar Poojary and elected members of Udupi city municipality were present.



Acting DC Srividya and other officers of the city municipality also took part in the event. Instructions were given to officials to take necessary measure in future to avoid recurrence of the same.
