Chikkamagaluru, Jun 3: Kavita (26) who was undergoing training at the police training centre at Ramanahalli in the city outskirts ended her life by hanging herself. She was from Talakal village in Hoovinahadagali taluk, Ballari district.

Kavita was posted to the police department at Bengaluru. Since the last nine months, she was under training. It is said that she often confessed to her fellow trainees about her fear that she had been nurturing since the day she joined for training about being able to successfully discharge her duties. She had failed in the semi-annual examination. Although other police officials had tried to instil confidence in her, they had not met with success.

On Saturday, birthdays of Kavita and some other police trainees had been celebrated. The celebration went on till midnight. Kavita too participated in the celebrations till 12 am. Thereafter she went to the kitchen of the training centre and hanged herself, reports stated.
