Belagavi, Jun 3: Minister of state in the department of railways, Suresh Angadi, predicted the fall of the state government soon because of internal rivalry between coalition partners. He also asserted that there need not be any doubt about state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa, getting the post of the chief minister.

He was speaking to media persons here on Sunday June 2. "Because of the enmity between coalition partners, the downfall of the state government is certain. The alliance partners have badly bitten the dust in the election. Therefore they are not right in sticking to power. Chief minister Kumaraswamy, should own responsibility for the disastrous performance in the election and tender his resignation without delay," he demanded.

Angadi pointed out that like in the assembly election, people have rejected BJP and Congress again in Lok Sabha election, by electing 25 BJP MPs. He expressed the view that the coalition government is being carried forward with the aim of keeping BJP out of power and with the intention to block Yeddyurappa's elevation as chief minister.

In reply to question on the demand for separate state status for north Karnataka districts, Angadi said that he would not allow division of the state to happen at any cost. "A large number of veterans had fought to create this unified Karnataka. The voices of dissent demanding creation of separate state should not emerge from anywhere. If BJP rises to power in the state, the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha here will come to life again. If our government rises to power, we will run assembly session for a month here," he declared.

State BJP general secretary Arvind Limbavali also said he foresees the fall of the state government because of fight among the coalition partners. He said the leaders will fail in their effort to stop the collapse of the government even after giving ministerial posts to two independent legislators. He was speaking after acknowledging the party's felicitation extended to him at the state BJP office on Sunday for his achievement of winning four seats for the party in Telangana where he was the party in-charge.

He attributed stupendous performance of the party in Karnataka to strong organizational set up, Modi wave, and the coalition government that is always busy handling internal bickering. He noted that JD(S) state president has expressed unhappiness about the functioning of ministers of his own party while Congress leader, Roshan Baig and JD(S) leader, G T Deve Gowda, have praised Modi. He said his party will not dither from taking the initiative if the state government crumbles.

On this occasion, state BJP general secretary N Ravikumar, who worked for the party's success in Kalaburagi, Yuva Morcha President and MP Pratap Simha, and newly elected MP Tejasvi Surya, were felicitated.
