Bantwal: Youth trying to sell ganja held

Bantwal, Jun 5: Policemen of the town station here have succeeded in taking into custody a person who was found trying to sell ganja on Tuesday June 4. The arrest was made from near Durga Garage at Talapady in B Mooda village.

They also took into possession 1.896 kg ganja, a cellphone and Rs 110 in cash from him. The total value of assets seized has been put at Rs 40,000.

The arrested accused happens to be Samshuddin (25), resident of Kukkaje in Manchi in this taluk. The operation was launched by police sub-inspector of the town station, Chandashekhar, with the help of subordinates based on credible information.

During the questioning, the accused reportedly confessed that he used to get ganja from Misbah from Ullal who gets it from a person from Uppinangady. A case in this connection has been registered in the town station here, and the police have been continuing with their probe.
