Bengaluru, Jun 5: State minister D K Shivakumar, who is facing case of tax evasion and illegal money trafficking along with four others, has not yet furnished accounts for the cash and ornaments found during the raids," said additional solicitor general Prabulinga Navadagi, to the special court for people's representatives here.

The hearing into a petition filed by Shivakumar seeking to drop this case continued on Tuesday June 4.

Navadagi, who appeared on behalf of income tax department, said that the accused have failed to provide documentary evidence for the cash and ornaments recovered from them. As they had failed to provide proof, this case was registered. Under income tax act, they were given 120 days to provide documentary evidence for the items seized. But even after expiry of the time given, they have failed to provide any evidence. Therefore the hearing into the complaint should continue," he argued.

Navadagi also brought to the notice of the court about various documentary proof provided in this connection to the court. He urged to dismiss the petition filed by the minister and others.

Advocate for Shivakumar sought time to place counter arguments. The court adjourned the hearing to June 7.
