Dubai: Hemmeya UAE Kannadigaru celebrates Ramadan with multi-religious Iftar meet

Dubai, Jun 8: Hemmeya UAE Kannadigaru has been organising annual Ramadan Iftar meet over the years. On May 31, it was held at Ramada Continental Abjad Hotel Ball room, Dubai, UAE. People from all walks of life and religion joyously participated to celebrate the holy month and all-religion summit.

The leadership of UAE declares every year dedicated to a purpose and special theme. Year 2017, being ‘Year of giving ’ inspiring people to donate for the needy and less privileged, and year 2018 being ‘Year of Zayed ‘ tribute to the father of the nation. Likewise, 2019 has been declared ‘Year of Tolerance ‘to spread love and harmony among faiths across the world. Religious heads from various faiths are welcomed to UAE to interact and promote interfaith peace and brotherhood.

The organizing members of Hemmeya UAE Kannadigaru Rafeeqali Kodagu, Sudeep, Senthil, Madhu Gowdar, Mamatha Raghavendra, Mamatha Senthil, Pallavi Basavaraj, Shashidhar, Venkatesh, DrSavitha Mohan, Anitha Ram, Vishnu Murthy, Hadiya, and Satish Masur warmly welcomed the guests on the occasion.



After breaking the fast, Namaz prayers were held followed by special prayers from Moulana Dr Abdul Rashid Zaini and Koran recitation with deep devotion by student Samith Sameer brought spiritual bliss among the audience.

Mamatha Raghavendra introduced the Hemmeya UAE Kannadigaru group and its programmes and welcomed the honourable religious heads Moulana Dr Abdul Rashid Zaini Sakafi, Moulana Noushad Faizi, (Fr Francis Saldana, St Mary’s Church, Rajesh Guruji ,SSY Yoga Kendara in absentia) chief guests Mohammad Mustafa, M Square Engineering , Dr
Shivakumar, guests, invitees from the labour work force. Dr Savitha Mohan introduced the honourable religious heads and their contributions.

Moulana Noushad inaugurated the session in the name of Almighty Allah and followed by a spiritual discourse. He said that this summit is of universal brotherhood and humanity. Quoting from Koran, Bhagavad-Gita, Bible he explained the soul of each religion which teaches love and humanity and insisted that human beings should cooperate, understand and live in harmony.

Mustafa congratulated and hailed the team Hemmeya UAE Kannadigaru for organising such a meaningful event and bringing people together and being an exemplary example for everyone to follow the path of celebration of all religions and its virtues.

Moulana Dr Abdul Rashid said that such celebration of interfaith brings people together to understand each other and appreciate the holiness of other religions and set aside the differences and misunderstandings leading to universal brotherhood. He explained the five pillars of Islam and true purpose of fasting for over 15 hours a day in this holy month with all the physical strain is to understand and realize the suffering of hunger, pain of all the human beings across the world and to take the path of cleansing owns own deeds and action during this holy spiritual journey of self-realization. He blessed the team and the audience to continue with this good deed of connecting people and celebration of universal oneness. He noted that India is the land of history of Tolerance for thousands of years and as Kannadigas we are blessed to be born in a land which cannot be described in mere words. It can be felt only by experiencing it.

Dr Shivakumar, CEO, JSS Institutions, Dubai, highlighted the purpose and celebration of the holy month, its aims and invaluable benefits. The spiritual journey that aims to clean the soul by freeing it from impurities. The time for Muslims to practice self-discipline, forgiveness, self-discipline, physical endurance, physical well-being, sacrifice and empathy for those less fortunate. It encourages generosity and charity. He called upon the youth of the world to embrace the teachings of the religion and follow the path of peace and spread humanity. In this aspect JSS institutions also organized a day’s fasting requested by its students voluntarily and Iftar event to feel the experience of divinity.

On the occasion, patron of Hemmeya UAE Kannadigaru Dr Mamatha Radar was felicitated. She wished and blessed the group to new heights in the days ahead.

Ashraf Parladka nicely anchored the programme with religious inputs. The programme ended with a hearty vote of thanks from Shashidhar followed by a joyous exchange of Ramadan pleasantries to each other along with Iftar buffet.
