Bantwal, Jun 8: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inspected the flow of water and pumping system at Netravati river after removing sludge on Saturday, June 8.
He went to Intek well in the river and checked the water level. “As the level of water has risen, the strainer in Intek well has gone under water and water is being pumped continuously,” informed MLA Rajesh Naik to the MP.
Water from Nekkaladi dam had stagnated in certain places in MRPL dam. As the sludge is removed in the initiative of municipal councillor Rajesh Naik in the leadership of MLA Rajesh Naik water started flowing in the river and more water is being left to Thumbay dam.
Local BJP leaders were present.
